Staff Profile

Hello! I am the Hamilton Junior High Band Director. I teach 5th-8th grade band on the junior high campus. 5th grade band students learn how to read music if they haven't already learned in elementary music and begin to learn how to play band instruments. I help 6th band students develop through their second year in band. Along with the high school band, we put on two concerts a year in December and May. The 5th grade band students only perform on the spring concert to give them plenty of time to prepare for their first public performance. 6th graders have an opportunity each year to perform at Sandy Lake in May. 7th and 8th grade band students go each year in April to UIL Concert and Sightreading.  I also assist my husband, Asa Hamilton, with the HHS Fighting Bulldog Band. I attend all of the rehearsals, football games, and competitions with the high school band.

I'm from Waco, TX and graduated from Midway High School.  I attended McLennan Community College for my first two years of college to earn my Associate of Arts degree. I attended Baylor University for both my Bachelors in Music Education and Master of Music in Music Education degrees.

Before I started teaching at Hamilton, I taught at Valley Mills ISD. I taught K-5th grade elementary music and 6th-12th grade band.

I am proud to be a Hamilton Bulldog, and I look forward to the wonderful memories I will make at Hamilton ISD!
