My name is Lori Dean, and I will be guiding 7th graders through their mathematical adventures. We will be playing with math, exploring with math, and talking about math. Most importantly, we will be DOING math!
I have 4 expectations for your student:
*Be a problem solver.
*Use math efficiently.
*Use math effectively.
*Communicate mathematical ideas effectively.
Remember: Whoever does the work gets smarter!
I am a graduate of Hamilton High School and earned my Master of Mathematics Education from West Texas A&M University. My son, Gunnar, is pursuing his MA in English at Texas Tech. My daughter, Henley, is in the Marine Corps stationed at Camp Pendleton, California. She and her husband, Alejandro (also a Marine), are the proud parents of my first granddaughter, Leona.
The best way to contact me is through email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Response to emails can be expected during my conference period, 8:00 - 8:45am, or after school, 3:40 - 4:00.
“Sometimes you make decisions on behalf of Future You. You know that Present You is probably going to have to deal with a little more discomfort or inconvenience right now, but long-term, you will be grateful for the choices you made today. You don't want merely to hope for better days ahead, you want to take the steps necessary to ensure them. Stay motivated!” - Kyle Carpenter, You Are Worth It
