HJH 8th Graders Take Annual Field Trip to Dallas

HJH 8th grade students recently traveled to Dallas, Texas for their annual field trip. The trip is funded by our fundraising event in the fall. The students first toured the Dallas Holocaust Museum and were fortunate enough to get to hear a survivor from the Warsaw Ghetto talk with them. Students walked to the Spaghetti Warehouse and had lunch. Then students learned all about John F. Kennedy's life and death at the 6th Floor Museum. In addition, Mrs. Henkes arranged for an additional experience called: Conflicting Evidence: The First 24 Hours After the Assassination. Mrs. Henkes acquired a scholarship from the Dallas Holocaust Museum to cover admission for all students and chaperones. The students were very well behaved and learned a lot.

HJH Band Travels to Stephenville for Concert and Sightreading Contest

Hamilton Junior High Band recently traveled to Tarleton State University for competition in the UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest. Students in both 7th and 8th grade band played a concert piece and then were challenged with a sightreading piece. After the competition, students ate lunch at CiCi's Pizza and then traveled back to school. Our HJH Band is under the direction of Mr. Asa Hamilton.

7th Graders Dissect FROGS!

7th grade students @ Hamilton JH recently learned about frogs in science. With a partner, students worked diligently and dissected frogs in the science lab. A great time was had by all!

HJH Dogs Compete in Jr Cub Relays

Hamilton Junior High track athletes competed in Clifton on March 31, 2017. Students competed in field events, distance races, relays, and individual races. Though a bit windy, our athletes came home with many medals.

Dawson Melde - Principal of the Day

Dawson Melde was Principal of the Day on Friday, March 10th. Dawson received the honor from our annual Friends of Hamilton Boots N Bling auction where his parents purchased the leadership position. Dawson planned the day for his fellow students including wearing athletic shorts, hats, napping, reading to AWE students, community service around the school, and some learning. Thanks to Dawson for a great Friday.

Friends of Hamilton ISD Host Golden Apple Awards

Friends of Hamilton ISD Education Foundation hosted the annual Golden Apple Awards at the Studio on the Square in Hamilton. Senior students write an essay about the teacher who most impacted his school career. Students and the honored teachers are invited to the event and the essays are read. Teachers receive a plaque and a copy of the speech. Many teachers from all three campuses were honored this year. Thank you, Friends of Hamilton ISD!

Mrs. Shelley Hale and Mrs. Kayla Sparks recently hosted our 2nd annual Science Fair in the Hamilton Junior High Gymnasium. Our ACE program sponsored the event and provided popcorn and lemonade to all attendees. Awards were made in biology, chemistry, and physics categories.
