HJH Elects Student Council Officers

Hamilton Junior High has elected its officers for the 17-18 Student Council. Each candidate was required to submit reasons why he/she wanted to be on the student council and ideas that could improve our school. All HJH students met for a slide presentation with each candidate's views. Voting was done electronically. The attached picture has officers and their positions.

HJH Students Start Year with Social Contracts

All HJH Students participated in building social contracts that offer a guide for classroom behavior for the teacher and student. Groups met in the library and were led by HJH teachers trained in Capturing Kids' Hearts. Because students helped create the guidelines, they take ownership of the behaviors wanted. Social contracts are posted on the walls of all classrooms.

8th Graders Attend Freshman Orientation

HJH 8th Graders and their parents attended an informational meeting on Monday, May 1 at the Chandler Craig Auditorium. Students and parents were informed about high school classes and given registration information by Mrs. Gina Poe and Mrs. Lisa Parrish. A large group of students and parents were in attendance.

HJH Volleyball in Full Swing

HJH Volleyball plays on Mondays from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. There are 15 matches in two gyms. Our junior high district is playing round robin each week at Hamilton ISD. Come and watch us play.

Citizens of the 5th Six Weeks

HJH Received Friends of Hamilton Grant!

Hamilton Junior High School recently received a grant for a charging station for our campus. The charging station has a display and multiple types of plugs for charging electronic devices. The students and staff on HJH are very appreciative! Thank you, Friends of Hamilton ISD!
