HJH Celebrates Grandparents' Day!

On Friday, October 6, 2017, Hamilton Junior High School hosted Grandparents' Day. We had over 50 guests come to eat with us or bring food for junior high students to eat. We appreciate all of the visits and hope you come again.

HJH Students Celebrate Constitution Day

Students at Hamilton Junior High have been studying our Constitution all this week in their social studies classes. Several students had projects to create in class. The whole junior high met during Homeroom period on Friday for a slide show prepared by our 4th period Study Skills class. The slide show included information about the Pledge of Allegiance, our National Anthem, our 3 Branches of Government, the Preamble, our Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. All students joined in singing, "I'm Proud to be an American" in tribute of our military and POWS.

HJH Elects Student Council Officers

Hamilton Junior High has elected its officers for the 17-18 Student Council. Each candidate was required to submit reasons why he/she wanted to be on the student council and ideas that could improve our school. All HJH students met for a slide presentation with each candidate's views. Voting was done electronically. The attached picture has officers and their positions.

HJH Students Start Year with Social Contracts

All HJH Students participated in building social contracts that offer a guide for classroom behavior for the teacher and student. Groups met in the library and were led by HJH teachers trained in Capturing Kids' Hearts. Because students helped create the guidelines, they take ownership of the behaviors wanted. Social contracts are posted on the walls of all classrooms.
