HJH One Act Play Competes Well!

HJH students competed in the District OAP competition on November 7, 2016 in the Chandler Craig Auditorium. We had four students receive awards in the competition. We were very proud of our cast and crew, directed by Harmony Thompson and Nancy Henkes.

HJH Students Participate in Mock Presidential Election

On Tuesday, November 1st, all HJH students participated in a Mock Presidential Election through the Every Kid Votes website. Students presented their identification cards and voted online with Chromebooks set up in the library. Results of the election are as follows:
Hillary Clinton 21
Donald Trump 140
Jill Stein 9
Gary Johnson 11
A total of 181 students participated in this mock election. Thanks to Melissa Medina (Uncle Sam) and Betsy Killian for helping with this election.

All teachers and substitutes are reading the Bluebonnet Award winning book, Ratscalibur to all Hamilton Junior High students today. Each class period, a certain section of the book is read aloud to our students. By the end of the day, the whole book will be read. Teachers are modeling good reading and showing students the importance of reading to adults and students.

KWTX Weatherman, Brady Taylor, Speaks to HJH

Brady Taylor, meteorologist for KWTX in Waco, visited Hamilton Junior High today. He gave a thirty minute presentation with slides about different kinds of weather in Texas. Students were then allowed to view the Weather Edge, a modified car used by the weathermen to monitor weather in Central Texas. Click on the headline to see more pictures. Digital Learning Class Creates Newsletter

Our digital learning class, taught by Mrs. Rockie Heers, created this newsletter about our first six weeks of school. The class is currently working on another newsletter. I will be more timely in posting the next newsletter.
