HJH Student Council Sponsors Canned Food Drive

The Hamilton Junior High Student Council sponsored our annual Canned Food Drive. Over 900 cans and many socks were collected for our local United Care. The winners of the canned food drive were rewarded with playing dodgeball against the HJH Faculty. It was a fun day and we gave a great service to our community.

HJH Student Council and Cheerleaders Serve Our Community

The Hamilton JH Student Council and the HJH Cheerleaders gave back to our community by helping with Christmas on the Square. The Student Council assisted children with creating candy cane reindeers. Our HJH Cheerleaders helped children decorate Christmas cookies. We are always proud of our students when they volunteer in community events. Mrs. Susan Tober is sponsor of our Student Council, and Mrs. Brittany Lackey is sponsor of the HJH Cheerleaders.

HJH Collect Aluminum Tabs for Ronald McDonald House in Temple

Students at HJH have been collecting aluminum can tabs for Ronald McDonald House in Temple for the last year. Recently, we loaded up the tabs and took them to Temple. Pictured here are: Mark Fink, Susan Tober, and Kit Empson. Each gallon of tabs will pay for one night's stay in the Ronald McDonald House for parents of sick children. Bring your tabs to the HJH office. We are still collecting.

Citizens of the 2nd Six Weeks

Chess Club Wins at Plano Chess Tournament

Several young men traveled to Plano early Saturday morning to compete in the Veteran's Day K-12 Classic Chess Tournament. Our team of 6th graders won 1st Place Team in their division. Mr. Charles Lackey is the sponsor of the Chess Club. Students in grades 6-8 are invited to join in the fun.

HJH Student Council Sponsors Food Drive

Our HJH Student Council is sponsoring a food drive beginning on Monday, November 14th and ending on Friday, December 2nd. Donations can be dropped off at the HJH Office. Each 4th period class will compete for the most canned goods donated. The winning 2 classes will play the HJH Faculty in dodgeball on December 2nd. Please help us collect cans for local families in need.


Mrs. Susan Tober, along with HJH Student Council members Chloe Wilson and Sutton Lee, attended the Texas Association of Student Councils annual convention. Our Student Council was awarded one of 5 awards in the state for Top Project. Our students sponsored our annual food drive but included a faculty/student dodgeball game to encourage participation. Congratulations to our students!
