HJH Students Watch Inauguration

HJH students were allowed to leave class to view the inauguration of the President. The live event was shown in the HJH Library. Thanks to Mrs. Betsy Killian for clearing the library for this event.

Weather Systems

Our 8th grade students recently studied weather systems in science. Students learned about weather fronts with cold and hot water experiments. Mrs. Shelley Hale teaches 8th grade science.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day @ HJH

Today HJH students were encountered with signs on our restrooms and water fountains that read "No Brunettes." In the cafeteria at break, brunettes were only allowed to sit at certain tables. There were so many brunettes, that many had to stand. Students felt very uncomfortable. We learned about discrimination, segregation, and how Dr. King worked as a civil rights leader to bring about peaceful change in the 1960's.

Ugly Sweater Contest in December

Hamilton Junior High enjoyed our annual Ugly Sweater Contest in the HJH Library. Mrs. Killian provided runway music as each participant walked through the library. All HJH students participated and voted online for their three favorite contestants. Winning the competition was Mrs. McNeely with Asa Hamilton and Ashley Powers as runners-up. Thanks to all of the participants.

Holiday Fun

Teachers and Staff of HJH joined in the holiday fun by wearing Santa or Reindeer masks at school.

HJH Staff and Teachers donned reindeer antlers and Santa hats to show holiday spirit on Friday. Thanks for adding some fun to our school day.

Fundraiser Top Seller - Chloe Wilson; Four Others Win Prizes

Students at HJH sold World's Finest Chocolates to help fund spring field trips and rewards. We raised over $4000 for our school. Pictured is the top seller, Chloe Wilson, who sold over 480 candy bars. Also pictured are the winners of the gift card drawing for all students who sold at least 60 bars. Congratulations.

HJH Teachers and Staff Celebrate

Thirty-three members of TEAM HJH Teachers, Staff and family meet for a celebration at Asher Cafe on Wednesday, December 14th.  Good food and fun games made the evening eventful.  Thanks to all who attended.

HJH Academic UIL Brings Home 2nd place

The HJH UIL Academic Teams recently competed in Ranger for two days at our District Meet. Our students brought home over 130 medals and the second place team. We had numerous district champion individuals and teams. Congratulations to all of these students and their coaches. Mrs. McNeely is the HJH UIL Director.
